Bobbin Lacemaking in Slovenia was on 29 November 2018 inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Inscription is important recognition for all institutions and individuals dealing with hand made lace professionally and for those who enable that bobbin lacemaking is still present intangible heritage. It is also recognition for thousands of lacemakers who were through the centuries making lace, because of their need for survival or because of their love to lace, bur probably because of both. It is also recognition and incentive who those who are dealing with hand made bobbin lace today. This is also the occasion, when Idrija Lace School staff remembers all who contributed in any way, that the oldest Lace School in the world, which has been working continuously since 1876, can still keep, share and develop the intangible heritage of making Idrija Lace.
